garden festival I
at every corner i turned i saw adorable flower decorations - i especially liked the huge, hanging flower ball in the top right corner.
but there was also a plethora of garden paraphernalia... think vintage, handmade, picnic, garden party... anything romantic, really.
i liked the seemingly random placing of some of the decorations:
most of these pictures are taken early in the morning, before the crowd flooded the place...
but when they did arrive, everyone was immensely cheerful...
in my mind all this happiness came from the scent of the pelargoniums that could be seen at almost every stall. to my heart's delight :-) just look at these, rather special, beauties here:
shelter from the rain
i went to visit two very creative people who lives in a sweet old house with a magnificent view.
the garden shows respect for the surrounding nature by the selection of plants -
they give the illusion to belong there naturally.
all around the garden there are great spots to simply enjoy.
or, if necessary as on the day of my visit, to take shelter from the rain.
the best part of this garden, however,
is the pavillion:
strategically placed at the highest point in the garden, this pavilion claims to have the capacity for 24 seated spectators. they may eat, read (notice the hidden books?), sing, drink (notice the bottle opener below!) or whatever their heart desire, yet will always be spectators to a stunning view.

a visit with Monica - hero of mine...
Monica lives in a sea of flowers. a colourful world that shocks your senses with scents, variations of colour and soft sensations beneath your fingertips.i'm not sure i could ever find the energy to care for this many flowers but how i admire Monica & her husband for finding it!
there must be more than a thousand... a few of the prettiest regals, a sweet selection of scented, several angels, uniques and ivy-leaved, and a top class collection of species and species hybrids. AND THE ZONALS!!! bright stellars with several colours in leafs as well as flowers, birds eggs flowered, formosums, speckled, fancy leaved, beautiful rosebuds & tulips, my beloved dwarfs and the itsy-bitsy-cutesy miniatures.... hundreds upon hundreds of zonals... my head was spinning with deligth :-D
